I have now learned from the Keywee blog provided by the Guild of Residential Landlords that the licensing plan has been approved by Cardiff Council, and will start from July 2010.

We discussed this issue on our blog today and I can't help but feel a £500 licensing fee is restrictive for landlords - especially those with only one property - however I do feel that some sort of regulation of landlords may be necessary but whether through a mandatory licensing scheme is up for debate.

See our Landlord Licensing article here: http://tinyurl.com/ygyvnyp
