I just think the problems with some landlords are horrendous and the issues with the system are if you have a dodgy landlord or even worse someone who’s the daughter of a police officer, the tenancy agreement is not worth the paper its written on. I have been a landlord and a tenant over the years but never till I rented from a daughter of a police officer did I have the worse nightmare of my life. Naughton v Whittle is definitely a lot more widespread than is publicised. A lot of innocent people are harmed by unscrupulous landlords some who have connections to people with power and influence and vulnerable tenants get exploited by them.
