Landlord Law Blog weekly roundup from 18 September

This post is more than 13 years old

September 24, 2011 by Tessa Shepperson

couple-laptop-coffeeThis week saw the launch of my new History of Law blog, of which more below.

I also attended the Gravesham and Dartford landlords forum, which I don’t think I have mentioned elsewhere.  It was a good event with some nice people.

But what happened on the blog?

Sunday

Introducing the new History of Law Blog

Thats right, no more History Spots and another blog to keep up!  Still I do enjoy history of law and I am only going to do about one post a week.  Find out why I did it here …

Monday

Tenancy deposit protection – forthcoming changes in the Localism Bill

Yes, Parliament is determined that landlords are not going to be able to get away with it!  Tiensia and Gladehurst looked like they were going to let them off the hook, but no!   Its all going to change again.  Find out how here …

Tuesday

Rats, cockroaches, bed bugs and other pests in rented property

What can you do and who is responsible for doing it?  Popular questions and my old post had lots of hits.  Take a look at the new post here …

Wednesday

Refunding advance payments where tenancy not taken up

A blog clinic question – Sandy paid £11,000 before deciding not to go ahead with a house rental. Now the agents are refunding to give the money back to him.  What can he do?  Find out what the suggestions were here …

Thursday

A new N5B claim form for accelerated proceedings

Yes, we just get used to one form and they go and change it again.  Most annoying.  But this form has a problem – where can you put all your crabby comments in green ink?  Find out where here …

Friday

Ben Reeve Lewis Friday Newsround #26

Yes, Ben is on top form again, scanning the housing news for you while ironing his smalls.  Find out what caught his eye here …

Ending a tenancy under a break clause

Connie wants to know if the clause in her tenancy agreement will allow her to end it early.  We take a look – see what we found here …
