Landlord Law Blog roundup from 23 July

This post is more than 13 years old

July 28, 2012 by Tessa Shepperson

Olympic OpeningDid you watch the Olympic opening last night?

Sport is not my ‘thing’, and of course in our British way, we have all been a bit cynical about it all.  However I thought the opening was wonderful!

How brilliant to showcase the NHS?  Come to think of it, virtually my entire family owe our lives to them. They deserve a bit of recognition.

Maybe as a country we are not so bad.  It was certainly a night to be proud of.

But what happened on the blog?

Monday

Housing Law – the bigger picture – greening the PRS

I talk a bit about how a register could help with reducing our carbon footprint.  Read more here …

Tuesday

Tenant has disrepair issues but is unable to contact the landlord

A blog clinic question about a not unusual question – landlords lying low when tenants ask for essential repair work to be done.  Find out more here …

Wednesday

How to prevent rent arrears by letting tenants take in a lodger

Generally a good solution all round – helps pay the rent and solve the housing crisis at the same time.  Find out how to do it here …

Thursday

Can I serve a notice on my landlord?

Another blog clinic quesiton, this time about tenant’s notices to quit.  Find out more about them here …

Friday

Ben Reeve Lewis Friday newsround # 68

Fresh from a visit to Landlord Law Towers, Ben has tales of smallest houses, ‘friendly fire’, forum chats, nuns on sheds – but no Shapps (why not?).  Find out more here …

I haven’t had a chance to watch it yet (don’t have a TV) I looked for it on Youtube but only found conspiracy theories on it, interesting watch.
Like you I don’t really watch sport but the opening would have been great.
