Landlord Law Blog roundup from 16 September

This post is more than 12 years old

September 21, 2013 by Tessa Shepperson

QuestionA bit of a strange week, and also quite a momentous week for me, which will mean some changes in the way that I work.

Its all quite exciting though – but I’m not going to tell you what it is.  Sorry!

Not yet anyway.  I’m going to do a proper post during the week and explain it all then.

Just now I am going to be annoying and keep to telling you about:

What happened on the blog?

Monday

Are we allowed to refuse access to our landlord?

A blog clinic question this where a tenant has one of those really annoying landlords who keeps letting himself in whenever he likes, and at all times of the day.  Legal?  See what I had to say about it here …

Tuesday

Does the landlord have any responsibilities towards joint tenants if one fails to pay their share of the rent?

I bet a lot of joint tenants and their guarantors have had a few things to say about this situation.  See what I said here …

Wednesday

I didn’t do a post on Wednesday on account of being stressed out about you know what.  Although of course you don’t know yet as I haven’t told you.  But I will in a few days time.  Promise!

Thursday

Sitting tenants rights when the landlord has never done maintenance work

Lucky tenant has had the same rent since 1993, but her landlord has never done any maintenance.  What are her rights?  See here …

Friday

Ben Reeve Lewis Friday newsround #124

Ben is panicking when the Inspector calls.  See why here …
