We were very excited when the RLA agreed to be one of our Landlord Law Conference sponsors this year.
RLA stands for the Residential Landlords Association and at over 17,000 members they are one of the largest, if not the largest, landlords association in the country.
They are a very good landlords association too, constantly striving to develop and provide services to help their members.
For example:
- The Deposit Guard tenancy deposit scheme developed in association with lead Landlord Law Conference sponsors TDS a couple of years ago, and
- A new Tax Centre service in association with RITA4RENT

The RLA are also very active politically, responding to consultations on behalf of members – for example
- They have responded to numerous licensing consultations from local councils to support the interests of regional private landlords
- They have also responded to proposals from London Government Assembly (LGA), and on
- Various issues in Wales, including Housing Bill (Wales), the roll out of Universal Credit and the Welsh Water bill
All these are regularly reported on the RLA blog.
Finally – training! Training for members is a big part of their service as they believe that education for landlords is key. For example a recent new course which is getting a lot of attention, is on marketing lettings, maximising income and minimising voids.
This is why they are supporting our Landlord Law Conference. RLA CEO Andrew Goodacre told us
