Landlord Law Blog Roundup from 31 May

This post is more than 9 years old

June 5, 2016 by Tessa Shepperson

Coffee cup and notebookThe sun is shining as I write which is rather lovely.  Lots of things in the pipeline – there is my Learn at Lunchtime webinar coming up on Friday, and I have been setting up some interview webinars which I will announce later.

I am also in the process of developing some handy ‘kits’ for you.  These will be on specific problems and will give detailed guidance on how the problem can be resolved while complying with the law.

The first one will be to help landlords who failed to protect their deposits and will tell you exactly what you need to do in order to be able to serve a valid section 21 notice.

But what happened on the blog?  There was no post on Monday as it was a bank holiday, so we go straight to

Tuesday

Grounds for Eviction: – Ground 15 – Deterioration of Furniture

This ground is not used very often (with good reason) but it is useful to know it is there.  Ben talks us through it and I chip in at the end.  Read about it here …

Wednesday

Can letting agents insist on using their keys to carry out viewings with new tenants?

A blog clinic post on the common theme of landlords and agents wanting to let themselves in.  Some interesting discussion.  Read it here …

Thursday

Questions about guarantee deeds in tenancies

These are some points which one of my Landlord Law members suggested to me might be of interest – so I used them as the basis for a post.  Take a look here …

Friday

Ben Reeve Lewis Friday Newsround # 253

Ben’s usual Friday column – on the correct day this week.  Find it here …
