We have been on holiday for the past week in Orkney (back now sadly).
Orkney is a fascinating and beautiful place – and completely different in atmosphere from home. Maybe due to the fact that it was never occupied by the Romans and appears to have closer links to Norway than to England.
My husband being interested in ancient archeology we have visited countless sites, but as all were surrounded by stunning scenery I was happy. (The picture is of the beach near Skara Brae prehistoric village).
I managed to keep the blog going with mostly prewritten posts which Ben and I have been working on for a while. As follows:
Monday
Consumer group to take action on illegal letting agent fees for tenants
Poor old Foxtons, first they are the subject of a claim by landlords, now its tenants. Still, maybe if their fees were a bit lower it wouldn’t happen … Find out about this new challenge here …
Tuesday
A new landlord initiated subletting scam
Ben comes up wth a new scam which allows landlords to have their cake and eat it. Find out more here …
Wednesday
Section 21 and the homelessness code of guidance
Another one from Ben, telling it as it is. Read all about it here …
Thursday
Which of these letting agent fees is illegal?
I take a look at the dodgy letting agent fees identified by Casehub and find that some of them are actually not dodgy at all (although I make some further suggestions for them). See which ones here …
Friday
Tessa Shepperson standing in for Ben Newsround #2
Ben and I were both away for this one and I drew the short straw. I did consider leaving it out completely, but managed to cobble this together on Thursday afternoon (it was raining). See what you think here …
