Landlord Law Blog Roundup from 16 January

This post is more than 8 years old

January 23, 2017 by Tessa Shepperson

The EarthThe world seems a more sombre and darker place than it did last week somehow.

However, the world is also a very different place to what it was fifty, thirty or even twenty years ago – because of the internet.

Take my business – which is all about rented property in England and Wales.  It is both local and international.  Most members are based in the UK, but there have been many from outside –  from Australia, Italy, Switzerland, the Middle East and of course America to name but a few.

The internet links us all together and allows us to work together in friendship, internationally.  Surely this is a good thing, and something which, now it has been let out of the bottle, cannot be put back again.

But what happened on the blog last week?

Monday

Do you know how to clean your rented property?

Taking a look at the cleaning instruction videos from Property Principles, now available on Landlord Law

Tuesday

Why not serving notices properly can cost you your case

I have been meaning to write a post about service of documents for a while.  Here my main message is about service by post.

Wednesday

Tenancy Agreements 33 days of tips – Day 2 – why use one?

Stating the obvious really, but an important point none the less.

Thursday

Can the landlord claim rent after the tenant has left?

A blog clinic question on a not unusual problem.

David Smith interviewed on the future for landlords in 2017

An excellent interview and worth watching for all landlords.

Friday

Ben Reeve Lewis Friday Newsround #280

Ben’s usual end of week look back at the news.
