David Smith is perhaps one of the best-known landlord and tenant solicitors in the Private Rented Sector.
As well as having been a partner in two firms (not at the same time!) he has also worked with the National Residential Landlords Association and is a well-known author and speaker.
I managed to catch up with David at the end of July to interview him about his life and career. We ended up talking for over an hour and so I have cut the interview up into sections.
This part, Part 1, is where David talks about his early life, his degree and PhD at Aberystwyth in Wales (he is really Dr David Smith), and his work at his mothers firm, Pain Smith prior to qualification as a solicitor.
