Job Opportunity for a Lawyer at Landlord Law

This post is more than 5 years old

August 20, 2020 by Tessa Shepperson

Join our teamWe have been very fortunate at Landlord Law.  We have been able to carry on during the pandemic and have been able to increase and improve our services.

This means that I have now reached the stage where need someone to help me. This person needs to be

  • Someone who is nearly qualified (for example if you have not been able to obtain a training contract), or
  • Someone who has a good law degree
  • We will also consider applications from qualified lawyers but this position is not really suitable for someone with a lot of post-qualification experience – unless you are willing to work full time for the salary on offer.

If you are thinking of applying, note that:

  • You must enjoy, be good at and understand land and property law
  • Be familiar with computers and the internet (as we are an online service and use a lot of different web tech)
  • Be a native English speaker and be able to write clear readable prose without jargon
  • Be enthusiastic about helping both landlords and tenants improve their legal knowledge

We can give you training in landlord and tenant law and the tech that we use.  We need you to bring your enthusiasm, a willingness to learn, a ‘can do’ attitude and your own ideas for the innovative delivery of legal services.

You will be working remotely from home but I would prefer someone living within reasonable travelling distance from Norwich so we can have face to face meetings occasionally.

Be aware that Landlord Law is essentially a ‘one to many’ information service, and not a traditional solicitors firm, so you will not be doing any ‘reserved activity’ work such as representing clients in litigation or indeed taking on any ‘one to one’ casework.

What you will be doing is helping me develop new online services including training services, and services to help both landlords and tenants.  You will be given (in due course) the opportunity to develop your own ideas.  We are an internet firm and so have to constantly develop new content and ideas which is challenging but also exciting.

If this all sounds good to you, can you please click here where you will find out more about the job and how to apply.

I think you should add “chartered legal executive” after “solicitor or barrister”.

Happy to consider applications from chartered legal executives if they want to apply.
