Landlord Law Blog Roundup from 15 July

This post is more than 12 years old

July 21, 2013 by Tessa Shepperson

flowersI hope you are all basking in the sunshine and making the most of it.

I must say it is making me curiously reluctant to work.  I keep thinking of things like walks along the sea shore, picnics by the river and drinks outside in our local pub garden.

What I really ought to be doing is tidying up our own garden but somehow that is less appealing.

Lets see what I managed to do on the blog.

Monday

Landlords and future obligations regarding illegal immigrants

I finally get around to looking at the governments proposals to turn landlords into border police.  Its not actually as bad as I thought and most landlords should be able to manage it fairly well.  Take a look at what is planned here …

Tuesday

Problems with unpaid rent after change of managing agent

Is this landlord not getting his rent because the tenants are not paying his old agent or because the old agent has not passed on the money?  And what should he do about it?  Check out my comments here …

Wednesday

Is the landlord obliged to provide more than one set of keys?

And if the tenant cuts a set himself, can he keep them?  These are the things we look at here …

Thursday

Can these guarantors get their name taken off the lease?

And will they ever speak to their daughter again?  Read all about it here …

Friday

Ben Reeve Lewis Friday Newsround #115

Usual lively comment from Ben, looking at how the green deal is a killer, how horses can help the homeless and speculating why the film footage of him always ends on the cutting room floor.  Could it be the shirts?  Take a look here …
