Easy Law for Landlords – making the commitment

This post is more than 13 years old

April 16, 2012 by Tessa Shepperson

Easy Law for LandlordsIt was crunch time on Friday. I had said I was going to send out the Early Bird invoices for my new Easy Law for Landlords course by the end of the week.

But if I sent the invoices out, that was it. I was committed to the project. Ooo er!

But I have done it, and the invoices have gone out. Some wonderful people have paid already!

Being Friday 13th of course, I made a bit of a pigs ear of the invoices, got some of the VAT wrong and (horrors) didn’t notice that the invoice template didn’t have my VAT number on it until I had sent most of them out. Duh! I am not really one of life’s natural accountants.

New designs

I have now commissioned Gill, my web designer, to do the design work. I need a special html template for the information pages and some buttons and other graphics. Being the daughter of an artist, how things look are important to me.

She sent over a really nice design for the html page on Friday (see extract above), which she is now working on. Hopefully I should be able to start loading the pages up by the end of the week. Those that I have written anyway. I have done most of module 1 and am about half way through module 2 so far.

Revisiting general legal principles

In a way these are the most difficult. They are the general law sections, which means I have to reacquaint myself with basic contract and tort law, and then present them in a way  which my landlord students will not find too boring.

The articulate engage diagrams are coming in very handy here.

I have also started to contact potential ‘industry expert’ interviewees. If you know anyone who you think would like to be involved, let me know.
