Landlord Law Blog roundup from 24 September

This post is more than 13 years old

September 29, 2012 by Tessa Shepperson

The bigger pictureYou may have noticed that I have been doing a series called ‘Housing Law – the bigger picture‘ for the past three months or so.

Well the series is due to come to an end on Monday when I publish the final part.  I will also be publishing the whole series as an ebook.

I shall be quite glad to get it off my desk actually, as it has taken up an inordinate amount of time.  As I am putting my head above the parapet and making actual suggestions and recommendations, I have for the past two weeks been doing constant tweaking.

Its still not finished – I have to check a new section I have added, there is a picture to find and clip to size, and I fear there is a further tweak needed to the conclusion.

I also need to remind you about the Early Bird offer for the Easy Law for Landlords course – 33.3% discount if you sign up before the end of Tuesday.  You can read all about it >> here.

But what happened on the blog?

Monday

Tuesday

Wednesday

Is my landlord obliged to provide a spare key?

A tenant loses his keys and has to pay a locksmith as his landlord was on holiday and could not provide the spare.  Does that mean his landlord should pay for the locksmith?  Read more here …

Can I end the tenancy on my flat due to damp and mould?

Another readers question – this time on the common problem of damp and mould in rented properties.  See what I had to say about it here …

Thursday

Dealing with post after tenants have gone

This can be a problem for landlords – how long should they be expected to forward mail, if at all, and what should they do with the post if it is not forwarded?  Find out more here …

Friday

Ben Reeve Lewis Friday newsround #77

Ben is angry this week.  Why are MPs wasting his time with topiary related questions when people are having to apply for food handouts? Welcome to Cameron’s Britain here …
