Landlord Law Conference 2014 now open for bookings #lllconf

This post is more than 11 years old

December 10, 2013 by Tessa Shepperson

Landlord Law ConferenceI am delighted to announce that the Landlord Law Conference will be running again in 2014 (once again sponsored by the wonderful TDS) and that we have now opened up for bookings.

Those of you who came along to the Conference last year will remember what a fantastic event it was (and if you want to remind yourself – see the video below)

The speakers

This year it looks to be even better as we have two great new speakers:

Timothy Waitt will be talking about issues relating to damp and condensation in rented properties. Timothy is a bit of an expert in this area, and was the solicitor in the case I wrote about here.  Condensation and damp are big problems so I am delighted he has agreed to talk to us.

Martyn Ashley Taylor will be talking about preparing for eviction hearings.  Martyn  is MD of solicitors support service Ashley Taylors Legal who provide advocates for about 30% of all L&T repossession claims going through the courts (his firm used to do all my hearings when I did possession claims so I can confirm that they are good).  So he is probably about the best person out there to be giving a talk on this subject!

Last years speakers coming back are

  • Me talking about drafting and adapting tenancy agreements
  • David Smith talking about HMOs (but a different talk from last time) and also doing a talk about whatever legal / regulatory problems have arisen on tenancy deposits at the time
  • Simon Parrott talking about disrepair issues
  • John Murray talking about acting in person in the Residential Property Tribunal, and
  • Mike Morgan, chief adjudicator at TDS talking about adjudication issues and how best to present your case.

The venue

We are once again at the wonderful Athenaeum in Bury St Edmunds.  We did think about moving the conference elsewhere but the Athenaeum is so perfect for what we need that we decided there was no point.  Particularly as they now have wi fi.

The Athenaeum is also adjacent to the four star Angel Hotel which we enjoyed staying in last year (if you want to stay there we have negotiated special rates for conference delegates).

You can read a bit about the Athenaeum (an interesting building) and the Angel in the blog post I wrote here for the 2013 conference.

See for yourself – our video of the 2013 conference:

Two conferences for the price of one

As a special deal, I am offering free access to all delegates to our ‘Conference Course‘ created from the film footage of lthe 2013 conference (currently on sale for £90).  Access will be given until 31 March 2014 so the sooner you book, the more time you will have to watch the course.

Discounts for existing customers

I have reserved 50 places for existing Landlord Law +Plus members and Easy Law delegates since the last conference, which will be at a special discount of 50%.  So as the full conference price is £180 (£150 + VAT) you will pay just £90.

Its worth joining Landlord Law or going on a course just for that!  But hurry as places are already beginning to go fast.

How to book

Visit the booking page here (which also has all the details about the conference) and click to complete our online booking form.  We will then send you an invoice so you can make payment.

Not that I have bought two domains, www.lllconf.co.uk and www.lllconf.com which both re-direct to the conference page.  So it is VERY easy to find.  #lllconf is also the conference official hashtag.

Watch out for more conference posts as I will be posting more later about our brilliant speakers and also our wonderful sponsors and exhibitors (which I have not had time to write about here).
