Setting up the payments facility

This post is more than 11 years old

September 11, 2014 by Tessa Shepperson

One of the advantages of this website, which is hosted on the New Rainmaker platform, is that it is already set up for us to take payments online without me having to go to all the bother of getting authorisation from Worldpay (our existing merchant account).

Getting the Worldpay authorisation for a new site is a bit of a nightmare as they seem, every time I do it, to want to put us through more hoops.  The New Rainmaker sites however are already set up to allow us to use pay pal and Stripe.

I haven’t used Stripe before but it is relatively easy to set up.  Having sorted a few minor niggles we are now set to go – and it couldn’t be easier!

The only real issue I have is that there seems to be no way to change the default country in the drop down list on the credit card payment screen from United States to United Kingdom.  Stilll I think we can live with that.  When I did a test and clicked before changing it, it seemed to take the payment anyway!

I am starting off by setting up online payment pages for all our Conference delegates, but I suspect we will start to put more and more payments via this system.

If that is why you are here, then thanks!  If you have any issues, you can use our contact page >> here.
