Landlord Law Blog roundup from 27 May

This post is more than 13 years old

June 9, 2012 by Tessa Shepperson

union jack flatI took a break from posts last weekend and over the bank holiday so this is an extra long list of posts this week.

It was quite nice having a few days off and I hope you all enjoyed the break.  The traditional bank holiday weather put us off going out much but I enjoyed the jubilee concert on the telly.

Shame that so many of the older singers had ‘pitching problems’ (as I think they call it now).

But what happened on the blog?

Sunday

I don’t usually do a post on a Sunday, but I made an exception for this tongue in cheek post about the Easy Law for Landlords course cat.  Find out how I am losing my marbles here …

Monday

Easy Law for Landlords course – introducing health and safety expert Paul Marsh

Paul is going to be helping me with the health and safety part of the course.  Find out more here …

Are you REALLY SURE you understand tenancy law properly?

Easy Law for Landlords Course – introducing David Smith on HMOs

Should I have re-protected the deposit when the tenant moved to a new property?

Another blog clinic post.  I got the DPS to give an opinion on this.  See what they said here …

Wednesday

Easy Law for Landlords course – bookings close today

Or rather last Wednesday (or longer ago depending on when you are reading this).  So you can’t book your place now until the course opens again.  I suspect it will but not for quite a while as it is a five month course.  See the post and find out more about the course here …

Thursday

Letting agent and council officer fined for Data Protection offences

This is believed to be the first case where a letting agent has been prosecuted under the Data Protection Act.  Find out more here …

Friday

Wednesday

Coming clean about cookies

One of the (less interesting) things I did over the bank holiday, was to do a cookie page for all my blogs.  This was because of the new cookie law which I talk about here …

Thursday

Can a Monday to Friday letting be an AST?

A blog clinic question – I thought not.  At the time of writing this there have been no comments so maybe everyone agrees with me.  See why here …

Friday

Ben Reeve Lewis Friday newsround #61

It seems to have come round again a bit quicker but thats the Bank Holiday effect.  Ben is talking about secret Deptford, happy housing and the tax man this week.  A lot of comments – read them here …
