Landlord Law Blog roundup from 6 August

This post is more than 13 years old

August 11, 2012 by Tessa Shepperson

housesQuite a lot of newsletters this week – the Frontliner newsletter Ben and I write goes out on the first Tuesday of the month, and my Landlord Law newsletter goes out on the second Thursday of the month.

Sometimes they occur in the same week.  Like this week!  But I still quite enjoy doing them.

But what happened on the blog?

Monday

Tuesday

How to get blown down fence panels replaced

A blog clinic question from a neighbour who is annoyed that the landlord of her neighbours is not putting fence panels backup.  What can she do?  See what I said here …

Wednesday

Using a break clause in a tenancy agreement

Another blog clinic question this – this time from a tenant who wants to give up his tenancy and buy a house.  See what the problem is here …

Thursday

Landlord fined £500 to agents £20,000 as manager of a defective HMO

A report of a case in Reading which just goes to show that it is the manager who will get fined in these circumstances not the landlord.  Read more here …

Friday

Ben Reeve Lewis Friday newsround #70

Ben is enjoying his work this week, as a landlord tries to evict a tenant for rent arrears after trying to illegally evict her.  He also has tales of threatened women’s refuges, the return of SARB and the ever present frustrations of s21.  But no Shapps …  Find out more here …
