Landlord Law Blog Roundup from 13 January

This post is more than 11 years old

January 18, 2014 by Tessa Shepperson

Robert and TessaI have spent a lot of time this week working on my Gas Access Kit which is coming along nicely.

Just to re–cap, many landlords experience problems in gaining access to properties to carry out the annual gas inspection, which as you will know is a legal requirement under the gas regs.

This potentially puts them at risk of prosecution plus they have the worry of not knowing if their appliances are still safe.

My kit will include a procedure to follow plus the ultimate remedy – guidance on how to obtain an injunction from the courts ordering your tenants to allow you access.

I have teamed up with Barrister Robert Brown of Arden Chambers who is helping me with the paperwork and procedure for this (the picture shows our recent meeting to discuss the kit).

If this interests you, have a look at the site where we are developing the gas access kit and sign up to be kept informed.
