Landlord Law Blog Roundup from 16 November

This post is more than 10 years old

November 22, 2015 by Tessa Shepperson

WalesWelsh landlords and letting agents are all reminded that Monday (tomorrow as I write) is the day when the new licensing rules come into play.

You don’t HAVE to register on Monday, in fact probably better not to, as the system will be very new and new systems sometimes have teething problems.

However, you must do so before 23 November 2016.  See the post below.

You can watch some of the talks about all this from our Wales Conference earlier this year here.

Welsh letting agents – note that you also have to display your fees as of Monday 23rd.  ARLA have some templates.

But what happened on the blog?

Monday

What is different about the tenancy deposit schemes?

We have two new custodial schemes on their way for next year.  But does this mean that all the schemes will end up looking the same?  Read about it here …

Tuesday

New nightmares for landlords using High Court Sheriffs to evict tenants

Its not as easy as it sound to enforce your possession order using the Sheriffs (or High Court Enforcement Offiers) and some landlords have been doing it wrong.  Find out more here …

Wednesday

Calling all Welsh landlords and letting agents – the day of Smart Renting approaches

Or is now upon you if you are reading this on or after 23 November 2015.  See what is happening here …

Thursday

Its just another public sector money making scam, the “rogue” landlords won’t be registering will they. The hopeless public servants will have to go out and find them, but that won’t happen as that might mean a bit of hard work, and we all know how much the public servants avoid hard work whenever and wherever they can. Its just another money making exercise to provide funds for their gold plated pensions, you know, the ones that no one else could ever provide due to the enormous costs involved, except when you’re getting other mugs to pay for it, ie… us.
