I had that Tessa Shepperson in the back of my cab …

This post is more than 15 years old

September 8, 2010 by Tessa Shepperson

trafficMy talk went well at the Landlord & Buy to Let Show today so I decided to treat myself to a cab for part of my journey across London.  Cabbies however are not what they were:

Me: Hello, can you take me to the nearest Central line underground station please?

Cabbie: Sorry love, no idea

Me: All right then, take me to Holland Park

Cabbie: Where’s that then?

Me: Don’t you know?  Didn’t you do the Knowledge?

At this point he suggested that I might like to take another cab.  WHICH I was quite happy to do, particularly as the second Cabbie told me he was a property investor (“and my girlfriend has about 60 properties”).  Another card given out.  And he knew where Holland Park underground station was.

Just a day in the life.  And talking about days in the life, I have a real treat for you all coming up.  Our regular guest blogger, Ben Reeve Lewis, is going to be doing a new series for me, “TRO Confidential”.  Its brilliant.  The first article “The case of the Bad Tempered Woman” will be going up on Friday.

Don’t miss it.  In fact, why not sign up to get posts by email?  You won’t regret it (and if you do, you can always unsubscribe).

Sounds like an unlicensed operator had gotten hold of one of the cars that cabbies use. I don’t know if you noticed if he had a meter or not (and if he did, it may not have run at the rate it was supposed to).

    I never thought of that!

TRO Confidential sounds absolutely fantastic, I can’t wait! I’m sure I could give Ben a few ideas, although probably nothing he hasn’t heard before!

Please do give your comments when the posts go online – people need to know what TROs do. And the problems that they experience.
