Landlord Law Blog Roundup from 18 July

This post is more than 9 years old

July 24, 2016 by Tessa Shepperson

Coffee-summerSummer is definitely here.  Instead of me moaning about being too cold, Patrick has been moaning about it being too hot.

Highlight of the week was one of our quarterly Property Redress Scheme Council meetings at the House of Lords – we get use of a committee room there as the Council Chair – Lord Palmer, is a House of Lords peer.   An interesting meeting as usual.

Next event coming up is a webinar interview with UPAD director James Davis, which you can sign up to here.  As usual it is a free event and will take place online on Friday 29 July at 12.30 lunchtime.  You can sign up here.

But what happened on the blog?

Monday

House of Lords new report lambasts former government policy

A good report but it will be interesting to see if any notice is taken of it.  The usual thing with reports is that they are completely ignored by Government unless they agree with them.  Anyway, you can read more about the report here ...

Tuesday

An evening with the Essex Property Network

Here are three interviews with attendees at the Property Network meeting I attended the other week.  Watch them here …

Wednesday

Advice for landlords being interviewed by Council Environmental Health Officers after a property inspection

What it says on the tin really, with some good comments from readers.  Find them below the post here …

Thursday

How can this former tenant recover her money when the property suffered extreme damp and mould?

Another blog clinic question on how tenants can exit from a tenancy when the property is in shocking repair.  Not an easy question but I do have a possible answer.  Find it here …

Friday

Ben Reeve Lewis Friday Newsround #259

Ben discussed filming and the new housing minister, among other topics.  Read them all here …
